Boko Haram Kills 5 In Damboa Mosque Attack

Boko Haram attacked and killed five worshipers at a mosque in the town of Damboa, Borno State, as they said their morning prayers.

A spokesman for the Nigerian Forces told Reuters that the Islamists sneaked into the town of Damboa in the wee hours of Saturday.

“While they were unleashing their mayhem, troops … engaged the terrorists, killing 15 in the process while others fled,” the military spokesman, Captain Aliyu Danja, said in a statement obtained by Reuters.

Meanwhile, Suspected members of the outlawed Boko Haram sect in the early hours of Sunday laid siege on the hilly town of Gwoza, in Borno State, killing a nurse and a prison guard.
