Family Of Nine Wiped Out In Plateau By Suspected Gunmen

Tragedy struck on Thursday morning in the Village of Barkin Kogi, Foron District of the Barkin Ladi Local Government Area, Plateau State, as gunmen suspected to be Fulani cow thieves killed a family of nine.

The Fulani herdsmen were said to have stormed the village in an attempt to steal cows from one Tsok Gwom and ended up killing nine members of his family with guns and machetes.

However, the Fulani herdsman ran out of luck as 12 of them were killed by the village mob in an attempt to leave the village with the stolen cows.

In the meantime, Mr. Habila Dung, Interim Administrator of Barkin Ladi LGA told newsmen that he heard about the attack and swiftly alarmed security agents.

“I received a distress call about the attack and I have immediately alerted security agents. I am also on my way to the scene and will talk to you when I am back.”

Further details could not be obtained from Mr Habila Dung at the said time.
