4 Men Charged To Court For Gang Rape In Ekiti

Ogundola Dayo, 24, Akomolafe Gbenga, 27, Ayeni Oluwaseun, 29, and Seye Banjo, 24, were all arraigned before a Magistrate Court in Ado-Ekiti  for allegedly gang raping a girl (name withheld).

According to the Prosecutor, Sgt. Caleb Leranmo, a Police Officer, the accused persons committed the crime on October 13th, 2013, at Moshood road, Ikere-Ekiti. He said the first accused, Dayo, assisted the three accused persons to gang rape the victim which led to her being hospitalized.

However, the accused persons pleaded not guilty as their counsel, Mr Chris Omokhafe, implored the court to grant them bail.

The Chief Magistrate Adesoji Adegboye, granted the accused persons bail in the sum of N100,000 each, and one surety in like sum who must be a civil servant. The case has been adjourned to November 15, 2013.
