Chief (Dr.) Solomon Daushep Lar, founding chairman of PDP and former governor of old Plateau State died at about 3.30 am yesterday in the US. He had been undergoing treatment for prostrate related ailments for almost two years and had to visit his doctors abroad constantly in the last one year. Only a few days back, he was said to be on life support (See Story here).
His death was announced by Plateau State Governor Jonah Jang at the Government Lodge, after receiving a phone call from the Lar family.

In a statement yesterday, President Goodluck Jonathan said Chief Lar “will always be remembered for the exemplary humility, great vision, wisdom and maturity which he brought to bear on political leadership in Nigeria for over 50 years as a legislator, executive governor, party leader and highly revered elder statesman.
