[ASUU STRIKE UPDATE] Strike Will Be Over In "Few Months" - Education Minister

Minister Of Education, Mr Nyesom Wike, in a statement at the anniversary lecture of National Universities Commission (NUC) in Abuja, assured Nigerians that the ongoing strike by ASUU would be over in a "few months".

Wike who was duly represented by Dr. Macjohn Nwaobiola, Perm Sec; Ministry of Education, stated that the Federal Government is doing everything it can to resolve the current strike.

“The Federal Government is very concerned about the state of public tertiary institutions in the country. The Federal Government is really worried about the ongoing strike of ASUU and the strike would be resolved in a few months.”

News emerging from the South reports that police authorities in Bayelsa State, yesterday, stopped a planned public protest by lecturers of the Niger Delta University, NDU, Amassoma.

When will this end? When will the Federal Government realize that time is as important as the education itself?. Our youths have been at home for over three months and all they can say is that the strike will be over in a "few months"?  I fear for the future of the country.
