Founding Chairman Of PDP, Solomon Lar Dies In The US

Chief (Dr.) Solomon Daushep Lar, founding chairman of PDP  and former governor of old Plateau State died at about 3.30 am yesterday in the US. He had been undergoing treatment for prostrate related ailments for almost two years and had to visit his doctors abroad constantly in the last one year. Only a few days back, he was said to be on life support (See Story here).

His death was announced by Plateau State Governor Jonah Jang at the Government Lodge, after receiving a phone call from the Lar family.

”I received a call from the US that Baba (Chief Solomon Lar has gone to be with The Lord. Baba died at 3.30 a.m. this morning”

Former PDP Chairman On Life Support

80-year-old First civilian governor of Plateau State, Chief (Dr.) Solomon Daushep Lar is said to be on life support.

Mr Major Adeyi, Executive Secretary of Solomon Lar Foundation, debunked earlier reports this week of his demise.

He said;  "Baba (Lar) is not dead, but the truth is that he is on life support. He was discharged from the hospital last week and even read his message to Nigerians on the occasion of Nigeria’s 53rd independence on online version of most newspapers. but two days later, he had a relapse and was rushed to the hospital. As I am talking to you now, he is on life support.”

Lar is said to have been undergoing medical treatment in a London hospital for the past one year.
