Former Ondo State Governor, Dr. Olusegun Agagu Is Dead

Late Dr. Olusegun Kokumo Agagu

Immediate past Governor of Ondo State, Dr Olusegun Kokumo Agagu passed on after he slumped on Friday evening. His death came barely 24 hours after his return from the United states. Dr. Agagu was aged 65.

Agagu was Governor of Ondo State in Nigeria from 29 May 2003 until February 2009, when a court voided his re-election as Governor on account of electoral irregularities. He was a member of the the People's Democratic Party (PDP).

The late Agagu started his elementary education at St. Luke’s Anglican School Okitipupa, in 1954. He later attended Ibadan Grammar School between January 1961 and 1967 where he passed his West African School Certificate and the Higher School Certificate examinations. In 1971, He  graduated with a Second Class Upper Division degree in Geology from the University of Ibadan. Agagu went to the University of Texas between 1973 and 1974 for his Masters degree in Geology.

His death was confirmed by the state Chairman of the PDP, Ebenezer Alabi. May his gentle soul rest in perfect peace
