Small Passenger Plane Crash Lands At Lagos Airport

A small passenger plane belonging to Associated Airlines is said to have crash landed at Lagos Airport.

"There's a lot of smoke coming from the runway, but we can't get access to it. There are firefighters rushing to the scene," Rasaki Rhakod, who runs a car service from the airport, told Reuters.

The plane had 27 people onboard with 20 passengers and 7 crew members. Yakubu Dati, coordinating general manager of Nigeria's airports authority, told Reuters on the scene that at least five passengers had been killed.

Several local radio stations and Channels TV reported that the plane was carrying a family and the body of former governor of Ondo state Olusegun Agagu to his funeral.

Exact Number of casualties cannot be  ascertained at the moment. I will keep you posted.
