2 Brothers Accused Of Raping a 50-year-old Woman In Lagos

33-year-old Uba Emehelu and his brother , 32, have been accused of raping and assaulting a 50-year-old woman (name withheld) at her residence in Coker, Orile, Lagos.

The two brothers who stay in the same flat with the victim attacked her at about 10pm on September 4, 2013, when she was returning from the toilet.

Uba, the older sibling pounced on her, forcefully removed her dress, and raped her. While committing the evil act, he squeezed the victims neck to keep her from screaming.

Nnanna, the younger sibling, got involved when Uba tried escaping as the victim held him and started calling for help. He assaulted the victim “with fist blows in an effort to free Uba from her grip.”

The two brothers have been arraigned before an Ebute Meta Magistrate's Court on three count charges of rape and assault.

Nnanna and Uba have however pleaded not guilty to the charges. The case was adjourned till October 28 for trial.
