Seven Shoes To Prison: 28-year-old Man Jailed For Stealing 7 Pairs Of Shoes In Abuja

MannySpeaks: As the great philosopher St. Augustine once said, "an unjust law is no law at all"... In a country where political larceny is celebrated, ex-convicts are idolized, where a certain political party chieftain gets a warm welcome party after serving time in prison for abuse of office, where a certain serving minister spends N225 miliion on armoured vehicles and still accompanies the president to the "Holy" land, where criminality is more of a compulsory quality to have on your resume before assuming political office... A certain man in the 'Federal Capital Territory' has been sentenced to jail for stealing 7 SHOES! 7 SHOES!!! .. and no I am not justifying crime.

Isah Abdullahi, 28,  has been sentenced to four months in prison with hard labour for stealing seven pairs of shoes in a mosque. He was said to have stolen the shoes while the Isha'i prayer was going on inside the mosque. Luck ran out on him as he was caught red-handed.

Presiding judge of Abuja Grade 2 Area Court in Kado, Mr Ahmed Ado, sentenced the convict on Wednesday after he was found guilty to a one-count charge. Isah was described by the judge as heartless for stealing from a mosque in the first place.
