NADAL AND SERENA CLINCH ROGERS CUP

Rafael Nadal of Spain creamed Canada’s Milos Raonic  6-2 6 -2 in the final of the Rogers Cup in Montreal as he prepares for the US open coming up later this month. The victory will see the Spaniard rise to number 3 in the world rankings set to be released on Monday.

Serena Williams also had a blissful day in Toronto as she decimated Romania’s Sorana Cirstea 6-2 6-2  to clinch the women’s Roger Cup. The victory puts the world number one outright fifth on the all-time list of tournament winners behind Martina Navratilova.
