ASUU STRIKE UPDATE: Two-Day Fasting & Prayer - UI Chapter of ASUU 'Take It To The Lord In Prayer'

After 5 months of failed rigorous and exhaustive negotiations with the Federal Government, the University of Ibadan, UI, chapter of the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, on Tuesday, decided to 'take it to the Lord in prayer' as they declared a two-day fasting and prayer for a divine intervention in their five-month old tussle with government.

According to the Branch Chairman of the Union, Olusegun Ajiboye, there was need for God's divine intervention and visitation in the ongoing strike.

[ASUU STRIKE UPDATE] - FG to Inject N1.1 trillion Into Universities

Reports coming in from the meeting between President Goodluck Jonathan and the leadership of Academic Staff Union of Universities suggest that the strike would be called off as early as next week.

According to Punch;

A key component of the agreement reached by the parties was  that the Federal Government  would  inject N1.1tn into public universities in the next five years.

A reliable source, who made this known, also hinted that the strike would be called off anytime next week.

[ASUU STRIKE] - Protesting Market Women Storm National Assembly

Market Women and Men Association of Nigeria stormed the National Assembly yesterday at about 11:30am over the prolonged ASUU strike which has been ongoing for over 3 months. The market women who spoke with one voice said they were tired of seeing their kids at home and that something should be done about it immediately.
