Crash Averted As Two Planes Collide At Lagos Airport

Another crash was averted at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos on Friday as a Turkish Airline aircraft collided with a Max Air plane which had brought in Pilgrims from Saudi Arabia.

According to reports, the incident occurred as the Turkish Airplane taxied to the airport's apron after landing safely. It's wing was said to have collided with that of Max Airplane returning from Saudi Arabia..

The airplanes were taken away for immediate repairs as the damages were minor.
 
In the meantime, Mr. Fan Ndubuoke, Spokesman to the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, confirmed the incident.

89 Passengers Escape Death As An IRS Plane Makes Emergency Landing In Kaduna

Barely 10 days after the ill-fated Associated Airline Plane  Claimed 15 lives in Lagos, State, another plane crash was averted at Kaduna Airport on Sunday as an IRS Airline plane with about 89 passengers and crew members on board made an emergency landing.

The aircraft which developed mechanical problems due to hydraulic leakage had to discharged its passengers on the run way.

Another Plane Crash Averted In Kano

 
Disaster was averted on Friday night in Sokoto as a Saudi bound Air Plane with 512 people on board lost two tyres while landing. This is coming scarcely 36 hours after an ill-fated plane in Lagos claimed 13 lives. 

It was learnt that the technical crew of Kabo Air plane saved the day as it confronted the emergency and taxied to a halt.

The Kabo Air plane which left Kano on Friday en route Saudi Arabia was said to be at the Abubakar Sadiq III International Airport, Sokoto, to pick some high profile passengers. The averted tragedy occurred just as a Benin-City bound aircraft could not land and had to return to Abuja.

[Lagos Plane Crash] The Survivor Who "Walked" Out Of The Plane Crash Alive

One of the survivors of the Lagos Plane Crash, Femi Akinsanya, literally walked out of the plane crash alive.  He was seen walking out of the wreckage before the aircraft caught fire. He suffered a minor injury on his head and was assisted by  men of the Nigerian Air Force who took him  to the nearby Air Force clinic for treatment.

Femi, son-in-law of the late Governor Olusegun Agagu was among the seven survivors of the ill-fated plane.

Lagos Plane Crash Update: BLACK BOX RECOVERED - Aviation Minister

It was a black Thursday morning in Lagos State, Nigeria, as a small passenger plane, conveying the remains of a former Governor of Ondo State, Dr. Olusegun Agagu, 20 passengers and crew members crashed immediately after take-off from the local wing of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport.

In a statement by the Minister of Aviation, Princess Stella Oduah, she assured the public that investigation into the cause of the crash will be thorough.

The manifest of the plane carrying the remains of former Governor of Ondo State, Dr. Olusegun Agagu, 20 passengers  and crew has been released. The 23-year-old aircraft belonging to Associated Aviation Limited crashed  less than a minute after take-off from the local wing of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja.

FAAN and the AIB  said the 20 comprised  13 passengers and seven   crew members, which included two pilots, two cabin crew members and three  engineers. See list below.

Small Passenger Plane Crash Lands At Lagos Airport

A small passenger plane belonging to Associated Airlines is said to have crash landed at Lagos Airport. 

"There's a lot of smoke coming from the runway, but we can't get access to it. There are firefighters rushing to the scene," Rasaki Rhakod, who runs a car service from the airport, told Reuters.

The plane had 27 people onboard with 20 passengers and 7 crew members. Yakubu Dati, coordinating general manager of Nigeria's airports authority, told Reuters on the scene that at least five passengers had been killed.

Several local radio stations and Channels TV reported that the plane was carrying a family and the body of former governor of Ondo state Olusegun Agagu to his funeral.

Exact Number of casualties cannot be  ascertained at the moment. I will keep you posted.
