Rivers Lawmaker, Chidi Lyod Arrested For Murder

Culled from PM News: The majority leader of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Chidi Lloyd has been arrested by the Nigerian Police based in the state for the suspected murder of Sgt. Urang Obediah and Mr. Kingsley Ejeuo, his kinsman and political opponent.

In a statement by its spokesman Ahmad Muhammad, the Rivers State Police Command said Lloyd was arrested while attempting to escape through the Airforce Base in Port Harcourt, the state capital.

According to the Police statement, “Hon. Chidi Lloyd on 30/12/2013 while pursuing his political opponent, he knocked down Police Sgt. Urang Obediah. In spite of his effort to stop him, rammed and killed him and went ahead to crush the Passat car Mr. Kingsley Ejeuo was driving and killed him”.. 

3-Month-Old Pregnant Woman Arrested In Connection With The Killing Of Two Policemen

A 3-month-old pregnant woman was paraded alongside seven armed robbers for their involvement in the murder of two policemen at Iju-Ishaga, Lagos State.

Ife Olubaba, 29, gang leader; Saheed Wasiu, 23; Sedu Idowu 20; Wasiu Rafiu, 23; Odelade Kabiru, 26; Waliu Sanni, 29, and Taiye Agege said to be dead, were all paraded by the Lagos State Police Command yesterday,  in connection with the murder.

28-year-old Pregnant Taiwo Obafunsho, who is also a mother of two confessed she met the gang through one of her girlfriends.

25-year-old Female Graduate Of DELSU Killed By Cultists in Agbor

Miss Radah Emuobosan Elise Agbaje, a microbiology graduate of Delta State University (DELSU) was killed by suspected cultists in Agbor.

The 25-year-old graduate was allegedly murdered by her assailants, suspected to be from the College of Education, Agbor, in the house of the younger sister of her mother, at about 2.00 am, while she was on the same bed sleeping with another girl. According to the grieving mother, “Radah, who made second class upper, collected her result, penultimate Friday, and went to show her father the result on Monday and she was here (Agbor) to show my younger brother.”

2-day-old Baby Strangled To Death By Mother

Joy Iember Iorzua has been arrested by the Benue State Police Command for allegedly strangling her two-day old baby boy to death. She was said to have dumped his body at the popular Ujiiragbo River in Benue state.

Vanguard reports;

The suspect  was arrested at Mbasa-Mbakine Gee council ward by members of the vigilante group operating in the community  who handed her over to the Police in Aliade, the local government headquarters.

37-year-old Man To Die By Hanging For Murdering Step-daughter

Abdullahi Abubakar, 37, who was arraigned in August 2008 for putting a poisonous substance, suspected to be Germaline, in his step-daughter’s food, which led to her death, has been sentenced to death by hanging.

Justice Bello Gummi of Talata Mafara High Court in Zamfara delivered the sentence yesterday...

: “The court, therefore, finds and holds that the prosecution has established the guilt of the accused person as charged.

“I accordingly sentence you to death and you will be hung by the neck until you die. This judgment is subject to confirmation by the state governor.”
