The
Federal Government of Nigeria has ordered
53 gold-plated iPhone 5S worth about
N682m from
Gold and Co., United Kingdom. The purchase was said to have been made as part of the memorabilia for the nations
53rd Independence anniversary.
“We
will engrave them with the coat of arms, a shield and two horses. “
Amjad Ali, CEO, Gold and Co., tells UK newspaper, The Independent.
The
Federal Government has however denied the allegations saying they did
not make any iPhone order from the Businessman, and that the report was a
lie.
Is this another way the Federal Government plans to reduce
the poverty level in Nigeria? I'm still trying to find a way around this
madness...
