Tajudeen Omole, 50, allegedly raped a 12-year-old girl on November 27, 2013 at 1, Ikolaba, Osogbo, the capital of Osun State.
Omole went to the house of the victim to ask after her sister who he claimed was his friend. The sister was not in the house and the he cunningly lured the girl into her room where he allegedly raped her.
The victim made attempts to scream for help, but was over powered. She thereafter, reported the case to those she found around the house.
The rapist has been arraigned before an Osogbo chief magistrate’s court on Sunday. The Police prosecutor, Inspector Solomon Oladele, told the court that the offence committed was punishable under section 218 of the criminal code cap 34 vol II laws of Osun StateNigeria, 2003.
Mr. Olusola Aluko, the presiding magistrate, in his ruling ordered that the accused be remanded in Ilesha prison.
