13-year-old Girl Gang-raped and Burned Alive

There are times you want to carry a report and you even get scared of reading it yourself. One of such cases is the issue of rape. It baffles me how men could be so wicked to commit such heinous crimes against their fellow 'men'.

The issue of rape in India has escalated to the point that Delhi is now known as the 'rape capital' of the city.

Just last few days ago, Tuesday night to be specific, a 13-year-old girl who was returning home after a visit to the farm with her sibling, was gang-raped by three villagers and then burnt alive after she threatened to report the incident to the villagers. She died after suffering 80 per cent burns.

The sister who escaped the incident ran back to the village to raise the alarm. On her return with some family members, they meet the victim with horrific burns all over her body.

The incident took place in the Sirsa Kalaar area of Orai in the Jalaun district of the state.

Reports coming from India suggest one of the attackers was a local thug by the name Ram Bahadur.

I have seen a lot of women with placards protesting against this heinous crime against humanity. What about the men in India? what measures have they taken to end this shameful act?  The time to act is now! The Government, men, and the nation of India should stand up and find a more direct solution to the issue of rape and violent abuse of women.
